Twas The Night Before Christmas

December 22, 2014 Michelle Cannon Smith

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse,

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...

This Christmas is extra special now that we have children to share it with!  So, to add some kid friendly decor to the mix while also starting some simple family traditions, we decided to go with a classic holiday theme to celebrate the twins first Christmas!

We stuck with a red and white color palette and were ecstatic when we came across this wrapping paper from Crate & Barrel.  Even more fun was this coordinating tape!  Meant for wrapping packages, it made the perfect addition to our baseboard!  (You get extra points if you can find the single mouse in the first photo)

Our love for these Maileg Mice is what inspired this years holiday kid decor.  We hope to make their appearance a family Christmas tradition. Think elf on a shelf, but with cute, pesky, little, mice.

The cute stocking and candle ornaments were also a Crate & Barrel find.

A pillow from HomeGoods, kraft paper and additional wrapping paper from here, and here rounded off the look.

Wishing a Merry Christmas to all...

...and to all a good night!
