Color Me Lucky | Green Dresses & Outfits For The Season

March 7, 2020 Michelle Cannon Smith
Green Dress

“St. Patrick’s day is an enchanted time - a day to transform winter’s dreams into summer’s magic” -Adrienne Cook

And what better way to celebrate the season than with a green piece to add to your wardrobe! This week I rounded up all my favorite fashion finds…all $35 and under + plus one splurge item…to add a little greenery into your style.

Mint Green Dress

Mint Green Dress

This 100% cotton mint green dress was a surprise winner. At $30, a tailored bodice, pleated skirt and exposed zipper, make this a wonderful option for all those dressier Spring events. (Mother’s Day, Easter, Church Sundays). Running true to size, possibly size up for bust. I’m wearing a size 6, also available in plus size here.

Green Gingham Dress

This Green Gingham Dress, while a splurge, is currently 40% off with code 23Hours and is the piece I’m most looking forward to this summer for BBQ parties and neighborhood get togethers! I’m wearing a size Medium.

Green Cotton Dress

Green Cotton Dress

This cotton dress is the same wonderfully thick cotton gauze fabric from my all time favorite dress (shown in this post). While it does run very boxy, I found this to be the perfect option for my mom life on the go. Parks, playgrounds, errands…it’s comfy, it’s a modest short cut and at $30 makes it a great daily go-to option. And one more point on fit…yes this is a boxy cut,…loose and over-sized is the intended look…that said, this cut is perfect for those, who like me, find their widest section in their middle (hello PCOS)…whether you’re looking to hide your middle section, or simply looking for an option that is loose and comfy…this style is for you. Available in multiple colors, I stuck with a Medium. Also comes in plus sizing here.

Printed Green Midi Dress

Printed Green Midi Dress

For $30, this is a fun printed dress option. While not cotton, I did find the rayon fabric light and airy. A tiered skirt and sleeveless cut make this a perfect option for Spring Break! Plus this dress comes in multiple color options (I show it in a bright stripe in this post).

Green Outfit

This set was so cozy, I couldn’t pass it up! The 100% cotton sweatshirt and color coordinating sweatpants are perfect for car pools, errands or lazy weekends at home. I’m wearing a Medium in both.

Cotton Flower Printed Dress

Cotton Flower Printed Dress

Possibly one of my favorite all cotton finds…this flowery printed option is right for so many reasons, with it’s one and only downfall being that it runs two sizes too big (I sized down to an XS). While cut to be a looser / baggier fit…I still found my typical size Medium, incredibly too wide and boxy. A good lesson for all of us when trying things on. I think all too often we get stuck with what our “size” is and forget that sometimes sizing up or down can make all the difference in making a piece a new favorite for your wardrobe. UPDATE : this piece is selling out quickly online…my local store still had all sizing available, so possibly check yours.

Cotton Dress

Cotton Dress

Yes, yes…this is THE dress that we’re all loving (shared it in all colors here). And yes, unfortunately this green color is currently sold out online (other colors still available!). That said I did see it floating around in stores this week and so many of you have requested to see the true green color, I figured it was worth sharing. I’ll absolutely keep you posted should it come back in stock! But this dress, in any color!!!…is so good, it’s a must have addition for your warm weather wardrobe!
