Earlier in the summer I shared this post about our backyard, and I'm happy to say we're making some progress. With the lower level of the backyard looking like this:

We knew we needed to do something to add charm and character to a space that is too shady for grass to grow. I have loved the idea of pea gravel, but with this section being long and narrow, we didn't want it to come across like a driveway.
